Student Recruitment Coordinator
Jim Russell
Jim was born and raised in Detroit and sensed the Lord’s leading into vocational ministry when he was a
teenager. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1971 with a bachelor of arts degree in Bible. After
earning the master of divinity degree, Jim pastored in Michigan until 1985, when he became the first Bob
Jones University Representative. His regional responsibilities soon expanded from Michigan to include
all of the Great Lakes States, where he represented the University for more than a dozen years.
In 1998 Jim moved to Greenville where he is now coordinating the University’s student recruitment efforts as well as representing BJU’s graduate and seminary programs locally and across the United States.
Jim and his wife, Christine, have four children, who, along with their spouses, are BJU alumni.
Jim Russell’s home is in Taylors, South Carolina.
