Matthew Weathers
A Greenville, S.C. native, Matthew attended BJU from K4 through the University and graduated in May 2007 with a degree in humanities. God graciously saved Matthew as a young child and has generated in him a burden for international missions.
As a student at BJU, Matthew was involved in student leadership, music groups, society sports and extension ministries. During the summers, he worked as a lifeguard and counselor at The Wilds Christian camp, ministered in Brazil with the BJU soccer mission team, and interned at Iglesia Bautista Puerta Abierta in Tijuana, Mexico.
After graduation, Matthew went to China as a short-term missionary for one year and taught English at the Shanghai Institute of Health Sciences.
Matthew is passionate about Christ-exalting worship through Gospel-centered preaching, music, and literature. He also enjoys soccer, bicycling, running, swimming, snowboarding, poetry, and collecting soil from as many different countries as possible.
