Key Courses
Creative Writing This course explores principles and techniques of imaginative (non-informational and non-argumentative) writing, with an emphasis on fiction but also including poetry and drama.
Article Writing This course provides principles for researching and writing nonfiction articles and includes emphasis on market analysis and submission to publishers.
Short Story Writing This course will teach you the principles and techniques of writing short fiction.
Script Writing This elective course will focus on the principles and techniques of adapting fiction to the media of radio, television, and cinema.
Writing for Children This elective course emphasizes the philosophy, writing styles, trends, and age categories appropriate to writing children's literature, with special focus on plot, character, theme, and setting.
