The Public Relations Journalism major exists to meet the need for a vital, professionally enhanced Christian witness in corporate, non-profit, and agency public relations work. Christian young people who are verbally gifted and skilled in the means of mass communication can provide effective counsel for an ongoing public relations effort as well as crisis communication.

Principles of Communication This course surveys the process, theory, and philosophy of contemporary verbal and non-verbal communication.

Expository Writing Here you will learn the principles and techniques of writing that informs or explains.

Public Relations Writing In this class you will learn the principles and techniques of publicity writing and advertising.

News Writing This course will focus on the writing of news and features for print media, including style and legal aspects of journalism.

Internship Upon recommendation of the department's evaluation committee, senior writing majors who have demonstrated a high level of writing competence work at a local organization in a capacity related to their interest.
