Robotics is a growing emphasis in the Department of Physics and Engineering at BJU. A number of projects are underway that allow students to become involved in robotics work.
A growing number of real robots are in use, as well as the powerful modeling and simulation package IGRIP. The following resources are available for you to explore:
The BJU engineering faculty have developed several tutorials and reference documents for educational users of IGRIP. If you are an IGRIP user and are interested in obtaining these materials, email Dr. Bill Lovegrove at blovegro@bju.edu.
Pencil-Bots — Dr. Lovegrove's collection of IGRIP simulated educational robots.
HallWalker — The mobile autonomous robot used as a test bed for mobile inverse kinematics and navigation algorithm development. It was the design project for a few years.
Paul — A pneumatic humanoid used in the programmable logic controllers lab.
IGVC Robot — Robot entry for the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC)
