PreMed/PreDent

Biology or Chemistry Emphasis

The purpose of the Premed/Predent major is to prepare you for success in medical or dental school. Each physician and dentist must be a thoroughly trained technician who is genuinely concerned about helping others. Our premed curriculum is designed to provide the necessary academic preparation, and also encourage spiritual and emotional growth. The performance of our premed students on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and Dental Admission Test (DAT) indicates that our premed program provides a high-quality education and is well balanced.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates have been accepted by medical schools in about 30 different states, including both medical schools in South Carolina. The acceptance rate of our graduates to medical school is above the national average. Our premed students have performed well in all three areas (high undergraduate grade point average, good MCAT score, and admissions interview) that determine medical school admission because of the high-quality education received here at Bob Jones University.
