What is a CEU?

CEUs are used as a uniform measure for participation in non-degree educational activities. CEUs serve as a standard of measurement that can be reported to employers, licensing entities, accreditating bodies, etc., to document such participation. Some ways that individuals may use personal records and transcripts reported in CEUs include the following: personal and professional development, documentation of continuing education activities for maintenance of teacher certification or other types of licensing, and evidence of vocational growth and development.

What types of CEUs does BJU Offer?

Two types of CEUs are available through Bob Jones University: Standard and ACSI. The differences between these are defined in the chart below. Prior to requesting a CEU transcript or certificate, individuals must identify which type of CEU they would like to receive.

Who recognizes the CEU?

Numerous employers, governing bodies, and licensing agencies use the CEU to measure educational activities. The user groups include, but are not limited to, these broad categories: professional and technical societies and associations, licensing boards, certification agencies, employers, and community organizations.

How do I obtain a transcript or certificate from BJU documenting my CEU activity?

Once you have completed an activity for which CEUs are available, simply download the CEU Transcript/Certificate Request Form , fill it out, and submit it to the Office of Extended Education. There is a $10 processing fee for documenting CEU activity.
