Application
The Bachelor of General Studies degree is equivalent to a full four-year program and consists of at least 128 credit hours.
Residence Requirements
You must complete at least 64 hours of work in residence at Bob Jones University or a recognized institution. Of those 64, at least 30 must have been completed at BJU. Additional residence requirements beyond the 30 required for admission into the program may be fulfilled after acceptance into the Degree Completion Program.
Credit Hour Requirements
Core requirements (64 credits must be earned from BJU)
- 30 hours minimum of BJU residence course work
- 24 hours minimum of BJU Extended Education course work
- 10 additional hours minimum of BJU credits (either residence or Extended Education)
Remaining requirements (64 credits)
- 34 hours minimum of residence course work (either BJU or approved transfer work)
- 30 hours of additional credits (either BJU residence, approved transfer work, or Extended Education courses)
- You must attain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average on all BJU coursework before the Bachelor of General Studies degree can be conferred.

* A candidate may complete three hours in two of these subjects or six in any one subject to fulfill these requirements.
Concentration Fields: (54 hours total)
- Either two concentrations in two subject areas (English, History, Social Studies, Bible, Psychology, etc.). Acceptable combinations are 36 credits in one and 18 in the other, or 30 credits in one and 24 in another.
OR
- Three 18-hour concentrations in three different subject areas
