Dan Kirsop serves as associate professor of trumpet in the School of Fine Arts and Communication where he has been a member of the faculty since 1981, providing class and private instruction. He is a member of Foundation Brass, the faculty brass ensemble of BJU, and is an active performer in the Greenville area, serving as principal trumpet with both the Spartanburg Philharmonic and the Anderson Chamber Orchestra. He has been a featured soloist with the Spartanburg and Anderson Orchestras, as well as the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.
He has served as music director for local churches in the Greenville, SC area for over 30 years and is currently serving as choral director at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. Dan continues to perform in University productions alongside students serving as mentor to prepare them for future performance careers and ministry. He is a member of the International Trumpet Guild and regularly prepares students for the National Trumpet Competition and other regional contests.
Mr. Kirsop enjoys a good football game, a good cup of coffee and especially his grandchildren.
