Gina Sprunger is an Assistant Professor of Piano at Bob Jones University where she received a BA in Sacred Music in 1976, and an MA in Piano Performance in 1978.She has taught private piano lessons as well as hymn improvisation at BJU for 17 years as well as maintained a private piano studio at home. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Greenville Music Teachers Association, and Federation of Music Clubs. She is a frequent adjudicator of local and state music competitions. She has traveled for the school, accompanied for chapel and worship services and played for several choirs, including the Show My People choir.
Because of her great love of arranging sacred music, she has had 18 books published by several companies as well as contributed to books compiled of various arrangers. She also has written 2 original piano books published by KJOS Music Press from which 2 pieces were chosen as required pieces for the NFMC Festivals. Also, she has arranged many hymns for various instruments found at Jantz Music Publications.
Church ministry has always been important to her. Growing up in a Christian home, she started playing the piano in church as a teenager. Giving her life to the Lord for full time service in high school, the Lord directed her studies toward church music ministries. She has served as church accompanist to five churches as well as serving in other capacities such as Sunday School teacher, Awana worker, nursery work and other ministries of the church. She ministers every Sunday at Hawthorn Inn , a partial care retirement center. She is very grateful to God for the gifts and opportunities that He has given.
