Learning Resource Center

The mission of the Bob Jones University Learning Resource Center (LRC) is to assist students with disabilities in successfully completing their degree programs by providing them with reasonable accommodations and individualized instruction.

Student Getting Assistance

Eligibility

The LRC is open to students with bona fide disabilities, including specific learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, physical impairments, and other recognized disabilities. Students must provide a current evaluation report from a qualified examiner for all disabilities except physical disabilities, hearing impairment, and visual impairments, which only require a written statement from an appropriate medical doctor. Only evaluations conducted during the student's enrollment at BJU or within the three-year period prior to the student's initial admission to BJU will be accepted. Permission to receive services from the LRC is granted by the Chairman of the Division of Special Education.

Personnel

Administrators for the LRC program are Dr. Joe Sutton, director, and Mrs. Amy Streeter, assistant director. The LRC is supervised by Christine Dewey, and special education professors serve as consultants to the program. University graduate students and upper class undergraduate students completing degrees in special education serve as teachers in the LRC.
