Services
University students with disabilities take the same required courses for their degree programs as nondisabled students. Instructional services provided by the LRC include:
- Testing modifications
- Mediation with professors
- Time management strategies
- Organizational assistance
- Learning strategies
- Study strategies
- Note taking assistance
- Tutoring in course work*
- Audiotaped textbooks**
* Limited tutoring is available. If more in-depth instruction is needed in particular courses or subject areas, the LRC will assist students in locating and employing tutors.
** Audiotaped textbooks are provided through the Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFBD) program, which requires start-up and annual fees and purchase of a special Walkman-style tape player. Applications are available at the LRC.
