What will I study?
In conjunction with the Division of Teacher Education' s commitment to build Christlike character, the Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education provides preparation for teaching mathematics on the high school level (9th - 12th grades). Students will become knowledgeable of mathematical content and pedagogy to be an effective educator. Mathematics (36 credits) and education (36 credits) courses produce mathematics teachers that are well rounded, competent, pedagogically skilled and dedicated to their profession.

We receive approximately 50-75 requests for math teachers each year, and we graduate about ten. Also, we anticipate the number of requests for math teachers will be increasing in the coming years. There is a wide open door of opportunity for you in this area if you believe the Lord is leading you in this direction.
A Christian School Recruitment Conference is sponsored by the Career Services office each February. Over 100 administrators and principals from many states and some foreign countries gather to interview and hire new teachers for their schools. This conference will give you many opportunities to find a place of service after you graduate. In addition, students can network with schools through our online placement service, CareerCentral. Hundreds of employment opportunities are posted annually. The Career Services office also helps students by holding seminars on resume preparation and interview techniques.
