Reggie Lamb (2004 B.Mus., Orchestral Instrument Performance) is currently working on a performance diploma at Boston University. He is studying with Ed Barker, principal bass with the Boston Symphony. Recently Reggie won the audition for the principal bass position with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Bangor, Maine.
Megan McCauley (2003 B.Mus., Voice Performance) won the 1st Prize Graduate Award at the 2007 Alltech Opera Competition held in Lexington, Ky. The award includes a $10,000 grant and a three-year stipend for graduate study at the University of Kentucky.
Sina Lewis (2006 M.Mus., Church Music) was accepted by audition into The Collegiate Chorale based in New York City. This professional chorale has a long and storied performance history. Most recently the Chorale was invited to perform the Mozart Requiem at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland under the baton of James Levine.
Candi Horton (2000 B.S., Music Education) is the band director of the Thomas Middle School Wind Ensemble of Arlington Heights, Ill. She also performs regularly with the Northshore Concert Band based in Evanston. The band is one of our country’s premier professional bands.
Ashley Pritchard (2006 B.Mus., Violin Performance) is pursuing a master’s degree in Violin Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She also performs in the Akron Symphony and recently received her Suzuki certification.
Jacob Frank (2006 B.Mus., Church Music) teaches music in the Huntsville, Ala., after-school programs. He also performs with the Huntsville Symphony.
Ah-Reum (Jenny) Han, 2000 BJA graduate and former organ student of Ed Dunbar, was a featured recitalist at the Regional Convention of The American Guild of Organists in Atlanta. Ah-Reum is currently a graduate student at Yale University.
This past summer, Joel DuBois (1998 B.Mus., Orchestral Instrument; 2000 M.Mus., Church Music) successfully defended his dissertation, “An Examination of the Aesthetic Philosophy and Choral Music of Dwight Gustafson,” at the University of Northern Colorado, completing the requirements for a D.M.A. in choral conducting.
In May, Melaine Truex (former Voice Performance and Church Music student) was a featured soloist at the National Prayer Service in Washington, D.C. Her pastor (also a former Division of Music graduate and former faculty member), Rev. Dave Harper, preached at one of the services. The service was planned under the auspices of the International Conference of Evangelical Chaplain Endorsers.
