Spring 2007
Division of Art Excursion: New York City
For our annual excursion this past fall, the Division of Art went to New York City October
11-15. The bus pulled off campus Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. for an all-night drive. On
Thursday we went to the Museum of Biblical Art to see an exhibition of pages from the St. John’s
Bible. We then took a stroll through Central Park and went to the Whitney Museum of American
Art on Madison Avenue. We concluded the day with supper in Times Square. On Friday we
went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Chelsea Market, and The Museum of Modern
Art. On Saturday we visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art and then spent some time in
Chinatown and Little Italy. Next year our trip will take us to The Art Institute of Chicago and the
houses and churches designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Oak Park, Illinois.
