1930s
Early in the decade of the '30s Bob Jones College began to offer courses in broadcasting — the pioneering move among religious schools.
1940s and '50s
In 1947 Bob Jones University began to offer a bachelor's degree in broadcasting, and in the '50s, BJU granted its first master's degrees in television broadcasting.
1960s
In the '60s we produced several TV series for NBC and ABC as well as numerous live programs on local channels. By this time, wire recorders and 16-inch acetate disc transcriptions had been replaced by audiotape!
1960s
During the '60s, the RTV Department moved from the second floor of Rodeheaver Auditorium to the "new" Fine Arts building, and WBJU-AM, the student-run campus radio station, began broadcasting to the dormitories.
1970s
During the '70s, BJU added a master's degree in Broadcast Management, and WBJU's famous White Glove Broadcasts were born.
