American Public Address Public discourse has always been a powerful force in shaping American culture. All of the American Public Address courses use a historical lens to focus on speakers of the past and to analyze their oratorical skill.
Ancient and Contemporary Rhetoric Human beings have described and criticized the power of words since ancient times. In this class, we survey the history of rhetoric from the Greeks to contemporary times always imagining its use for today's Christian.
Career Opportunities
Many of our graduates have used the Rhetoric and Public Address major in preparation for law school, in combination as a double major with Bible for a dynamic preaching ministry, or for a career in sales, public relations, communications consulting, radio, writing, government, and politics. Of course, this major can also be used to prepare you for a teaching ministry in either the public or private field at either the high school or college level. Graduates from our speech programs are on the faculties of most of the major Fundamental Christian colleges and universities.
