Camp Ministries
The Camp Ministries major is designed to prepare students to serve in various types of camp ministries (adult, youth, and children). Of the 128 semester hours required for the degree, more than 60 hours are devoted directly to Christian service studies and skills.

Key Courses
Camp Administration In this course you will study the history of camping. You will learn about the types of camps and the philosophy, objectives, organization, and administration of a camp.
Recreational Leadership This class covers the principles of recreation applied to the ministries of the church. You will be taught the philosophy, characteristics, and values of recreation.
Hermeneutics This course will provide you with a study of the principles of Bible interpretation, including the history of interpretation; historical, grammatical, literary, and theological interpretation; issues related to the various kinds of biblical material (narrative, wisdom, prophetic, didactic); and figures of speech, types, etc.
Career Opportunities
The School of Religion extension office will assist you in finding positions for Christian service. Pastors, camp directors, mission board directors, and other recruiters often visit the campus to find personnel for their ministries. Graduates can be found serving the Lord in a wide variety of fields—from teaching to working on the mission field.
