Welcome Week Schedule

Monday, Jan. 12

9 a.m.–7 p.m.

  • Check-in (Davis Field House)
  • Residence Hall Move-in
    When you arrive on campus, come to the Davis Field House to claim your reservation. If you are a resident hall student you will also receive your room assignment at that time. You may move into your room as soon as you complete the check-in process.

9 a.m.–5 p.m.

  • International Student SEVIS registration, Admission, (Office Annex)
    All F-1 International students (and their dependents) in the United States must register with SEVIS at their initial enrollment of the academic year. Bring the following items (including items for any dependents): Passport and Visa (if applicable) and Forms I-94 and I-20.

7 p.m.

  • New Student/Parent Orientation & Reception (Levinson Hall – Welcome Center)
    Welcome to the University! Meet your new president and student leaders as you begin your transformational journey.

Tuesday, Jan. 13

8:15–11:45 p.m.

  • New Student Orientation (Levinson Hall)
    This intense, but enjoyable, time will get you up to speed with campus life and provide a good start for your academic career. You will meet and interact with current students, faculty and administrators who will give you the inside scoop about college life at BJU.

1–4 p.m.

  • Music Auditions, Fine Arts Center
  • Placement Tests, Alumni Building 220
    In the interest of your academic success, you may be required to complete placement tests and/or auditions. Please consult your Admission Certificate for instructions.

1–5 p.m.

  • Advisor Meetings, Faculty Advisor Offices
    Your academic advisor will guide your academic journey. You will need to see your advisor to register for your classes and talk about your academic goals. Prior to seeing your advisor, you should take any placement tests and/or auditions listed on your Admission Certificate.

7 p.m.

  • Opening Exercises (FMA)
    This is the first opportunity for our university community to meet together as we begin the new semester. You will need to be seated in your assigned chapel seat. Arrive a few minutes early to meet the people you will be sitting with for the next few weeks in chapel.

9:45 p.m.

  • Society Prayer Meeting
    This is your first of several opportunities to visit a society you may want to join. You may attend any society prayer meeting of your gender.

Wednesday, Jan. 14

  • Drop/Add period begins
    If you find that you need to drop or add a course after your registration is complete, you may do so until Monday, Janurary 19, at 5 p.m. You will find access to Drop/Add under the Register menu option in StudentCentral.

7 a.m.

  • Classes and Society Rush Begin
    Print or screenshot your class schedule so that you have it to help navigate from class to class.

11 a.m.

8 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 15

11 a.m.

7 p.m.

  • Evangelistic Meeting (FMA)
    Please be seated in your assigned chapel seat.

Friday, Jan. 16

11 a.m.

  • Society meeting
    This is another opportunity to observe a society you may want to join. New students may attend any society of their gender.

5 & 7 p.m.

  • BJU Bruins vs. Pensacola Christian College Basketball Games (Davis Field House)
    Wear your Bruins gear and cheer on your fellow Bruins as they take on the PCC Eagles. Women take the court at 5 p.m., and the men follow at 7 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 28

9 a.m.–10 p.m.

  • Check-in (Davis Field House)
  • Residence Hall Move-in
    Room assignments will be in your welcome materials.

Saturday, Aug. 29

9 a.m.–10 p.m.

  • Check-in (Davis Field House)
  • Residence Hall Move-in
    Room assignments will be in your welcome materials.

1–10 p.m.
