Working on Campus as an International Student

As an international student, you are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week. You are also subject to additional labor laws.

If you plan to work on campus, BJU will help you apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). In order to qualify for a SSN, you must enter the United States in F-1 student status and have a job offer on campus. You will not be able to work until after you have presented your U.S. Social Security Card to HR Staffing Services.

Students applying for a SSN should pick up a letter of employment and SSN application from HR Staffing Services once you arrive on campus. Transportation off campus to the local Social Security Administration office is available upon request.

If you have any questions, email HR Staffing Services.
