What was your favorite class in college? Why?

In undergrad, a speech class called Persuasion shaped a lot of my thinking about public speaking. On the graduate level, a class on Romans not only gave a good treatment of the book, but also best encapsulated the philosophy and framework for Bible interpretation taught in our seminary.

What is your favorite college memory?

Strangely, one of my best memories is from the beginning of my first year. I happened to meet a guy who became one of my best college friends in a chance conversation in a hallway. I’ve always been grateful to the Lord for that.

Why did you choose BJU?

My family was impressed with the quality of BJU graduates we knew. After considering other colleges, I found that BJU offered everything the others did, and a lot more.

What are your plans after graduation?

At this point the Lord seems to be leading me and my wife toward missions in Taiwan. After I finish my degree, I hope to be ready to transition into deputation.

Any advice for incoming students?

First, come willing to learn—not just facts and skills, but to love the Lord. Second, learn the value of living by a schedule. And make sure to schedule in time for ministry to others.

If you could visit one place, where would it be?

Matterhorn: Swiss Alps. It’s probably a little cold, but after looking at pictures, my wife and I decided we would love to see it in person. The mountain has an impressive peak if you can see it through the clouds. If you don’t know what it is, Google it. Then you’ll want to visit, too. Maybe we’ll bump into each other over there.

What type of high school did you graduate from?

Christian school
