FAFSA Process
- Go to the BJU Virtual Financial Aid Office and choose “I would like to complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA.”
- Apply for a personal identification number (PIN). A PIN number will allow you to sign your FAFSA electronically, which is faster than mailing in a signature page. If you are a dependent (as defined by the FAFSA), your parents also need to apply for a PIN and complete part of the FAFSA.
- Complete the FAFSA online. To do this, you will need information and documents such as your Social Security Number, recent bank statements and your parents’ and your own federal income tax return and W-2 forms.
- When asked for a school code, enter BJU’s school code — 003421. This number will ensure that BJU gets an electronic copy of your FAFSA results — the information necessary to award you financial aid.
- When you are finished with the application, you and your parents need to sign it electronically with your PINs and submit it.
Using your EFC to determine your financial need:
Subtract your EFC from your estimated cost of attendance (COA) for one year at BJU. Your COA will include room, board, and tuition ($16,220) as well as other costs, including books, transportation and so on. Cost of attendance will vary for each student.
