International Students

The student body of Bob Jones University represents almost every state within the United States and over 50 countries from around the world. The admission of an international student takes six months on average from the time of the first inquiry until the student secures an F-1 visa. For a timetable of events in the application process and to know when you should apply, see our Fall Guide PDF if you seek admission for the Fall semester, or see our Spring Guide PDF if you seek admission for the Spring semester.

Students educated outside the United States must submit a credential evaluation report from World Education Services (www.wes.org/application/).

  • Students with no prior college work should apply for a document-by-document evaluation of their secondary school transcript.
  • Students with prior college work, but who have not completed a degree, should submit to WES both the final transcript of their secondary school work for a document-by-document evaluation and the transcript of their college work for a course-by-course evaluation.
  • Students who have completed a college degree need only to provide the final transcript of their college work for a course-by-course evaluation.

Bob Jones University must be identified as a recipient of the completed World Education Services report.

In order to issue you an I-20 upon acceptance for the 2007-2008 school year, we will need a bank statement showing at least $19,787 in United States currency; you may also submit a certified affidavit of support from a guarantor who is a United States citizen residing in the United States. If you are providing the bank statement for yourself, you will need to pay in advance one year of room, board, and tuition. For more information, see Financial Form for University PDF, Reenrollment PDF or for Canadian students PDF.

We do not have scholarships for international students, although we do have a limited number of campus work positions available to students who demonstrate financial need after their arrival on campus. Questions about admission of an international student may be directed to the International Student Admissions Counselor.
