- Your first destination will be the Davis Field House for check-in. Once inside, go to the host at the table labeled with your section of the alphabet. He or she will give you a packet that includes your Admission Certificate. It will tell you your email address and post office box number and combination. If you are a residence hall student, it will also list your room number and telephone extension.
- Working on campus? If so, you will stop at the Office of Student Services station to complete employment paperwork.
- Bringing a laptop? Take your laptop to the Information Technology (IT) check-in station in the Davis Field House when you check in, and we will get your computer up and running on the BJU Campus Network.
- You will receive the following materials at various check-in stations:
- Registration Guide—your guidebook of activities scheduled during registration and orientation week.
- Calendar of Events—includes important deadlines and activities as well as coupons and discount offers from local businesses.
- Class Button—Please wear your class button every day through Welcome Week, so the university family will know you are a new member of the student body.
- Last, you will have your picture taken for your official BJU ID card. Once you have completed this circuit, you are checked in and may exit the building. If you’re a residence hall student, the next item on your agenda is to move into your residence hall room.
- Your room assignment
Your residence hall room assignment is on your Admission Certificate. Parents of residence hall students may see their students’ rooms while helping carry in luggage during check-in weekend. - Your roommates
All rooms have either a group leader or a room leader. These students have demonstrated in previous semesters that they are serious about their walk with God and desire to help others in their Christian lives. They will help you become familiar with the daily routines at BJU and will take an interest in your personal and spiritual growth.
For many of you, leaving home to attend college is one of the biggest steps of your entire life. You’ll never be the same once you leave—and that’s as it should be. You don’t go to college to stay the same! You go to learn, to grow and to become more like Christ.
Although you may have some goals for your college experience, God has some specific goals in mind for you as well. Both your happiness and your holiness depend on your desire to seek God and His ways with your whole heart.
We’re here to help you become the leaders God wants you to be. Welcome! We look forward to having you in the BJU family.
