Following the meal, Dr. Stephen Jones, president, will overview what BJU has to offer you while you are a student here.

2 p.m.

Student Session – An Overview of Life at BJU

Stratton Hall (Student Center)

Several faculty and staff members will present the academic, social and spiritual opportunities available to students during their years at BJU. Students will be able to text in questions during the session.

Parent Session – Letting Them Grow

Rodeheaver Auditorium

Several key student service departments will present an overview of campus safety, career planning and academic assistance. Following these presentations, Dr. Jeff Heath, director of enrollment planning, will moderate a panel consisting of current students and parents of current or graduated students. The panel will discuss the academic, social and spiritual opportunities available to students during their years at BJU and how parents can help their students succeed.

BJU Expectations (Students & Parents)

Stratton Hall (Student Center)

Dr. Eric Newton, dean of students, will introduce and share the philosophy behind BJU’s student expectations and how BJU aims to help students continue to develop Christian character and leadership.

5 p.m.

Supper with Your Dean

Locations to be determined

Students and parents are invited to meet the dean of the student’s chosen school and enjoy fellowshipping with faculty members. Following the meal, students will receive pre-advising information and also hear a testimonial from an alumnus of their school.

7 p.m.

Chapel (Students & Parents)

Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium

What will chapel be like at BJU? This service will follow a format similar to chapel, with special music and a short message from a member of the Bible faculty.

7:45 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Free Recreation & Ice Cream Social (Students)

Davis Field House

The Davis Field House will be open for basketball, volleyball and ping-pong or just to hang out with members of the student life staff, a handful of faculty, admission counselors and the student ambassadors serving ice cream.

7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Parent Connection Dessert with Executives, Administrators, Faculty and Staff

Student Center

The Welcome Center and Student Center mall will be open for parents to visit with members of the faculty, staff and administration.

10:30 p.m.

Student ambassadors will lead the students through prayer group, a vital part of BJU student life.

Stop by to speak with representatives from a variety of student service and academic departments. Students will be able to meet with representatives from campus departments to have questions answered about residence hall requests, technology, societies, organizations, campus work, academic and career-related resources, ministry opportunities and local church involvement. Students will also have an opportunity to win a Dell Latitude 2120 Netbook.

Mom's Heart-to-Heart Tea

An informal drop-in sponsored by the Alumni Association for moms to share what their student’s transition from high school to college means to them.

BJU Athletics Events

Join the BJU Bruins coaching staff for a “meet & greet” luncheon and participate in a workout session on Saturday. The workout will be approximately 2 hours.

The soccer workout will be held on June 22, and the basketball workout is on June 29. A completed medical release form is required.

There will be a “meet & greet” for golf and cross country on June 22 and 29 but no workout.
