Day Student Qualifications

One of the following conditions must be met in order for you to enroll as a day student.

  • I am or will be married and will be at least 20 years old.
  • I will be living with my parents (or a court-appointed legal guardian other than yourself). Your family must be living full-time in Greenville, not merely maintaining a second residence here so that you can live in town.
  • I will be living with a blood relative (aunt, uncle or grandparent).*
  • I will be living with a brother or sister who is in good standing with the university and who is at least 23 years old or has completed a four-year bachelor’s degree at BJU or is married.*
  • I will be 23 years old during next semester.
  • I have or will have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree.

Single International Students

If under age 30, you must live in the residence halls for your first 2 semesters at BJU even if you qualify to live in town under one of the conditions listed above.

Timothy and WORLD Fund Students

You must always live in the residence halls.

* Written Confirmation for Students Under 23 Years Old

If you are under 23 years old and are moving into town to live with a relative other than your parents, you are required to submit the following to either the Dean of Men’s office or Dean of Women’s office prior to the start of the next semester.

  • A letter from your parents giving their consent for you to live with that particular relative and
  • A letter from the relative accepting the responsibility of having you live with them.

You may live in town with your brother or sister who is single as long as one of them qualifies to live in town and as long as there are no other roommates.

If you live with a single aunt or uncle, he or she must be of the same gender as the student, unless another brother or sister is also living with them or both are graduate students.
