Taking the ACT
- Apply for and take the ACT well in advance of the semester for which you seek admission (find test dates).
- If you are admitted without ACT scores, you must take the test during your first semester of enrollment.
- 1st Semester, the ACT is offered the 1st Saturday of the semester
(scores only reported to BJU) - 2nd Semester, students register for a National Test Date
- 1st Semester, the ACT is offered the 1st Saturday of the semester
Take the ACT in your country, if the test is available; if the ACT is not available in your country, you may wait and take this test at BJU during the first semester of your enrollment.
Post graduate special students do not need to request their ACT scores be sent to BJU.
Re-enrolling students do not need to request their ACT scores be sent since BJU holds their ACT scores from their previous enrollment at BJU.
Scores
Scores are primarily used to determine course placement and as an advisory function. On the baccalaureate level scores are also used to determine if you must complete a mathematics requirement and/or used as major entrance requirements (i.e, sophomore level nursing and/or teaching education majors). ACT scores are not used to determine program placement (associate/baccalaureate).
Results Sent to BJU
In completing the test application form, be sure to indicate that a copy of your scores is to be sent directly to BJU. The ACT code number for BJU is 3836. These test scores are useful in processing your application and in advising you during your college career.
About the ACT
The ACT assesses your general educational development in 4 subject areas (English, mathematics, reading and sciences) and your potential to successfully complete college-level academics. ACT scores range from 1 to 36 on each of the tested academic areas and includes a composite score for all areas.
Get more information about the ACT from your principals or counselors or by contacting Admissions.
