What type of high school did you graduate from?
Christian
Why did you choose BJU?
BJU offers an excellent academic education that I was looking for, and every subject is taught from a Christian worldview. The worldview combined with the heavy academics drew me to Bob Jones University. I also wanted to participate in activities outside my field of study, and BJU gave me that opportunity.
How have you grown over your years at BJU?
I have learned how to learn. This skill is priceless to me because I use it in every area of life. Knowing how to learn new things quickly and well helps me develop my spiritual life, pick up a new job, communicate with other people, and enjoy cultural activities.
What was your favorite class in college? Why?
I really enjoyed Classical and Medieval Literature. I had to study and read a lot in that class, but I was introduced to the stories that are commonly alluded to in other literature. I still enjoy understanding books better because I know the allusions.
What was a misconception you had about BJU that was proved wrong when you became a student here?
I thought that the faculty and administration would not try to know me as an individual person. But I was totally wrong. The faculty especially reached out to me and let me know that I was important to them as more than just a student.
Any advice for incoming students?
Try to stay involved in different organizations but don't get too overwhelmed that you lose focus of God and the other important people in your life.
What’s your favorite verse or Scripture passage?
I love Colossians 3:12-17 because it teaches me the foundation for loving God and others.
