Changes in the financial aid process
Changes in processing your financial aid have occurred. Learn how these changes apply to you on our FAFSA Process page.
Apply for Financial Aid
1. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
We ask that you file your FAFSA regardless of whether or not you think you will qualify for federal aid. The FAFSA is also used to determine eligibility for institutional SC state aid.
Timing: Prior to March 1 using your latest tax information.
2. Complete application to BJU
Financial award letters are sent to students who have applied and been admitted.
- If you haven’t applied to BJU yet, now is a good time to do so. It’s easy to apply to BJU.
- If you have submitted your application form, be sure to complete the items listed on your online admissions checksheet.
Timing: As early as end of high school junior year
3. Receive your financial award letter
Once you have been admitted to BJU and completed your FAFSA report, we will review your eligibility for financial aid.
- If you complete the FAFSA by March 1 and have been admitted to BJU, your award letter will be sent to you by the first week in April.
- If you complete the FAFSA or are admitted after March 1, your award letter will be sent as soon as your eligibility for financial aid has been reviewed.
*The NET PRICE Calculator provides estimated amounts only. Official award amounts are determined from the FAFSA and are communicated to admitted students in an award letter.
