What You Can Do

Along with checking out classes and the campus in general, there are some other things you will definitely want to experience during your next visit to BJU, such as sporting events, plays, concerts and tours, to name a few.

Admission Counselors

Big place. Lots of people. But you already have a friend in your Admissions Counselor. Yes, they counsel you about the admissions process (hence the name), but they give you a lot more than just the technical stuff. Call or email your counselor before coming to campus to set up a time and place to meet. If you’re not sure who your counselor is or you don’t have one yet, stop by the Admissions Counseling Center in the Student Center.

Chapel

Monday through Thursday at 11 a.m., students, faculty and staff gather in the FMA for chapel. This break in the academic schedule allows everyone a chance to refocus and be spiritually rejuvenated. Chapel services are open to the public. Chapel messages are available online and also available through the Campus Store.

Classes

After arriving on campus, stop by the Information Desk in the Administration Building. You can pick up a Welcome Brochure which has a campus map and a list of suggested classes you can attend.

Fine Arts Events

Music
From individual student recitals in voice and instruments to woodwind or string concerts, and from orchestra and band performances to any of the eight choirs’ concerts, you’ll have a variety of productions to choose from.

In the spring semester, BJU’s Opera Association hosts an opera, featuring faculty and students in supporting singing roles and several guest artists in the lead singing roles.
Drama
Throughout the semester, students and faculty put on plays and speech recitals for degree requirements. These recitals are open to the public, and you can enjoy a quality dramatic production in a variety of genres.

In the fall and spring semesters, BJU’s Classic Players produce a Shakespearean or other classic play with faculty and students acting in detailed costumes surrounded by elaborate sets.

Sports Events

The intramural sports program is organized by literary society, and there’s usually some sort of game going on—from softball, tennis and basketball to soccer and volleyball, and even sports like ping pong and water polo. The 2 major sports events are the Turkey Bowl (soccer championship) just before Thanksgiving break, and the basketball championship in March. All sporting events are free.
