About BJA

A Word from the President, Dr. Stephen Jones

"Preparatory school," when drained of the elitist snobbery that often accompanies the term, merely means a private school for preparing students for college. Bob Jones Academy exists for the purpose of educating Christian young people far more extensively than that definition might imply. BJA does prepare a student to excel in college, but the real focus is the preparation of each student for life and for eternity.

The driving goal of Bob Jones Academy is discipleship toward Christlikeness. Everything we do here—from academics to sports to outings to community ministries—is designed to help our students become more effective followers of Jesus Christ.

The faculty and staff of Bob Jones Academy are committed to that aim of Christlikeness for each student. It is their highest calling and greatest desire for every interaction. The faculty and staff have devoted their lives to this ministry, and they are well trained and highly committed to fulfill their tasks to the glory of God.

As a Bob Jones Academy graduate, I owe an immense debt to its administration, faculty, and staff. Looking back from this vantage point in life at the time spent at BJA, I marvel at God's goodness in providing me with such a spiritually focused and academically rigorous education.

As a "preparatory school" in the best sense of the term, Bob Jones Academy is 100 percent for the success of its students. Our desire is to see them grow academically, socially, and physically; but our daily realization is that none of that will matter if they don't also grow spiritually. BJA is preparation that focuses on life and eternity—and that just happens to include the best possible education for college as well.
