Students in five-year-old kindergarten through grade six participate in producing our school newspaper. Newspaper articles are composed by our intermediate grade students by utilizing their computer skills.

Late Stay

Students have a choice of indoor activities such as chess and other board games, library, and study hall. There is an extra charge for this program.

Field Day & Carnival

This yearly event, somewhat like a miniature Olympics, involves the entire student body. The Carnival has activities for every member of the family.

Project Fair

Students in grades two through six may enter a science or craft project in several categories ranging from arts and crafts, computer programming, cooking and baking, math, to music composition. Award ribbons are given to the winning entries.

Spirit Week

All students participate in this week of special fun activities and classroom competitions. The week is ended with an assembly where each classroom has an opportunity to demonstrate its BJES SPIRIT!

Contests

During the year, students in grades three through six participate in numerous contests, such as Spelling Bee, Catechism, and Mental Math. One representative is chosen from each class in these grades to compete in the contest. Winners receive certificates of recognition.
