Extension
Extension offers an opportunity for our JH students to have an outreach in the community. Homerooms take turns participating in Extension on Wednesdays from 3:10 to 4:10. Each week two Homerooms go on Extension for HR points, but all students are encouraged and welcomed to participate. It is a great time to bring some joy and sunshine to another heart.
Grocery Booster Programs
Are you participating in the JH Booster Programs? You can enroll in the Bi-Lo Boosterplus program by using one of the enrollment forms which you can get in the JH office. You only need to take an enrollment form to Bi-Lo one time. This enrolls you until the end of the Boosterplus program year. Each time you use your Bonuscard, Bi-Lo will donate 1% of your total purchase to the JH. For the Publix Partners Program you can stop by the JH Office and pick up a Publix Partners Card. Each time you use your Publix Booster card, the amount you spend will be credited to the JH's account. Thank you for supporting the JH when you do your grocery shopping.
JH Lost and Found
If you think that your child is missing something, it might be in our JH Lost and Found. Parents are welcome to check for lost items at any time that the JH Office is open. Periodically a "Lost and Found" sale is held in the JH Cafeteria.
JH Video Scrapbook
Information on the 2009-10 book will be available in April.
Notes for Early Dismissals
If your child has an appointment during the school day please try, if possible, to let the JH office know before the school day begins. This is so that we can include any early dismissal times on the JH Daily Announcements which our teachers receive.
Notes for Lates & Absences
When a student is late for school or absent from school, a note needs to be sent to the JH office, on the next school day, giving the reason for the "late" or "absence." A tally is given to the student for each day a note is not turned in.
Sickness
You will need to keep your child home if he or she has any of the following symptoms: fever over 100, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, frequent cough, widespread rash, earache or severe headache. Symptoms should not have been present for at least 24 hours before sending a child back to school.
Junior High/Academy/University Games attendance
JH students are not to be at JH, Academy or University games by themselves. They are to be with a parent or an older Academy/University brother or sister who is at least 16 years of age. They are to 'go' with them and 'stay' with them. If a JH student is seen at a game and they are not with a parent or brother/sister they will be given a tally.
