Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University

M&GVisit our world-class art collection to see art and artifacts dating from Bible times through the 19th century. Thirty galleries feature over 400 paintings of European sacred art by the Old Masters. M&G is open Tuesday through Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., and a modest admission fee is charged. This season the following activities are offered:

  • Music with the Masters
    March 20 at 3 p.m., March 28 at 3 p.m., March 29 at 2:30 & 4:30 p.m.
    Make plans to spend an afternoon enjoying M&G’s Old Master paintings and a live instrumental performance by the University’s string ensemble, Collegium Musicum, as the galleries echo with the poignant melodies of Bach and Mendelssohn.

  • ArtSpeak Demystified
    Enter an art museum and questions abound. Where did the art come from? How was it made? Who owned it? Is it original? Visit ArtSpeak Demystified and you’ll find a relevant, understandable and intriguing exploration of the art facts everyone wants to know. Look at the backs of paintings and discover their travel history. Learn about how specific works journeyed from the artist’s studio to M&G’s galleries. Take a tour that unravels the process involved in creating different types of art media.

  • Exploring Rome with Art
    Join Artechus on an exciting exploration through ancient Rome. Children ages 6-12 will be delighted to enter the streets of Rome. While in Rome, children will enjoy piecing together a mosaic, matching Rome’s landmarks to the correct place on a geographical map or dressing up in traditional Roman garb. Students will also learn about Roman numerals and discover clues to Rome’s glorious past. Shopping in the Forum will please boys and girls alike while teaching them about the highly developed mathematical system perfected by this ancient civilization. Join Artechus and unearth the treasures and secrets of the Roman Empire!

  • Easter Scavenger Hunt
    February 12-March 30
    Children six and older are invited to participate in an Easter-themed scavenger hunt. This exciting activity takes 30-45 minutes and is designed to captivate children’s interest and expose them to Old Master paintings in a friendly manner.

Mack Library

Open Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, 3-5 p.m.; Thurs, 1-5 p.m.

  • Jerusalem Chamber—a reproduction of the room in London’s Westminster Abbey where parts of the King James Version of the Bible were translated. Serves as a display area for BJU’s collection of rare Bibles.
  • Archives Room—a fascinating array of material dealing with the history of Bob Jones University.
  • Earle W. Sargent Boardroom—This elaborate room features hand-carved pilasters, Tiffany stained-glass windows and chandeliers from the Astor Hotel in New York.

Don’t miss Unusual Films’ all-digital, wide-screen production—a high-tech look at the entire spectrum of campus life in a colorful, action-packed 30-minute presentation in the Grace Levinson Chapel. No tickets are necessary.

Seminary and Evangelism Center

SeminaryThe Bob Jones Jr. Memorial Seminary and Evangelism Center is a world-class center for training seminary students. The beautiful rotunda contains multimedia displays, memorabilia, and a mural and sculptures dealing with evangelism, preacher training and missions.

Please Note:

No photographic or recording equipment is permitted in any auditorium or assembly building. Recordings of certain messages, as approved by the speakers, may be obtained through the Campus Store.

Children six years of age and older (when accompanied by an adult) are welcome in the BJU Museum & Gallery and in any service or program.

Modest apparel is required for all services, events and attractions.
