Aviation Camp
Week 1: July 6-11
Week 2: July 13-18
Cost: $450 (includes flight costs)
Grades 9-12 (as of September 2008) and 2008 high school graduates
Open to first time BJU aviation campers only
Aviation Camp is under the direction of BJU aviation faculty with a combined total of more than 60,000 hours of experience in military, corporate, charter and missionary flying.
Activities
- Attend classes about aerodynamics, flight safety and navigation
- Record flight instruction time in a pilot logbook
- Log flight simulator time
- Tour FAA facilities
- Talk with corporate and commercial pilots
- Build a small balsa airplane
- Learn about aircraft systems and maintenance
- Plan and fly a short cross-country flight
