General Information - Summer Camps

guy As a ministry of Bob Jones University, the mission of the summer camps is to help campers grow Christlike character as they learn about a specific field. In addition to the activities listed with each camp description, all camps include daily chapel, personal Bible study and nightly group devotions in the residence halls. All camp counselors and staff are BJU students and faculty who are dedicated to helping campers grow in their Christian walk while at camp.

Faculty

All camps are directed and taught by gifted BJU faculty members, many of whom hold terminal degrees in their fields and have many years of professional experience in teaching young people. They look forward to sharing their expertise with campers each summer.

Arrival and Check-in

Check-in for junior music day camp begins on Monday morning at 8 a.m. Check-in for all other camps runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Student Center lobby. Camp activities begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday with an opening service. Except for those whose plane reservations require a Saturday night stay, we regret that early arrivals cannot be accommodated.

Departure

All camps except Art Camp and Music Camp end at noon Friday. Additional information will be sent after registration.

Medical Care

BJU has a medical clinic and a well-equipped hospital in case of illness or accidents but is not responsible for any medical expense a camper may incur. Parents must sign the medical release form.

Room Requests

Campers may each make one request to room with a friend or sibling. Room requests must be mutual. We will do our best to fulfill each request, provided it is made on the reservation form.
