Special Exhibition—ArtSpeak Demystified
Art·speak (ärt´spēk) n. 1. Artistic terminology. 2. Academic language often used among museum professionals and art connoisseurs. 3. Art-world jargon that delights the cultural elite but annoys the average museum-goer. Enter an art museum and questions abound. Where did the art come from? How was it made? Who owned it? Is it original? Visit ArtSpeak Demystified and you’ll find a relevant, understandable and intriguing exploration of the art facts everyone wants to know. Look at the backs of paintings and discover their travel history. Learn about how specific works journeyed from the artist’s studio to M&G’s galleries. Take a tour that unravels the process involved in creating different types of art media. Come demystify a world that can at times seem distant—you’ll be permanently intrigued. Fee: Free with general admission.
