Opportunity Days
November 20-21, 2008 & March 19-20, 2009
Career preparation, relationship building, spiritual growth—your college experience will set the course for the rest of your life. Websites and brochures can help you make the crucial decision of which college to attend, but there’s nothing like seeing a place with your own eyes!
So come be our guest at BJU for a few days. We’ll put you up in the residence halls, provide your meals, let you visit classes and arrange for you to meet faculty members. You can talk to current students and check out BJU’s campus. We’ll even mix in some fun times with the other high schoolers here for Opportunity Days.
Visit classes of your choice
We’ll give you a class schedule so you can sit in on the ones that interest you most.
Watch Images of Light
Our 35-minute, digitally mastered multi-image presentation will give you a glimpse of the student experience at BJU. Settle into a comfortable seat to watch the fast-paced visuals set to music. Shown several times daily.
Catch a Vision for Success
BJU administrators and faculty members will present the Vision for Success Seminar on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Topics include choosing a major, time management, financial aid opportunities, finding God’s will, becoming an effective leader, liberal arts education, and student life at BJU. Parents and youth leaders are also welcome to attend.
Attend chapel
On Thursday morning, you’ll gather with the entire BJU student body and faculty in the 7,000-seat Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium for a time set aside for worship and learning from God’s Word.
Eat pizza with student body leaders
Members of the Student Body Council will have dinner with you and give you a student perspective on life at BJU.
Ask the experts
A panel of administration members will be ready to answer your questions about financial, disciplinary, and enrollment policies, as well as questions about the "legends and myths" of BJU.
Take some time to relax
Thursday evening, you’ll enjoy game time in the Davis Field House, followed by skits performed by BJU students. After that, we’ll meet for a time of singing, special music from students, and a challenge from God’s Word.
Catch some b-ball
For the March Opportunity Days, the Friday night event is the University Basketball Championship in the Davis Field House.
The American and National League champions face off for this year’s intramural basketball championship.
Get one-on-one attention
If you would like to meet personally with a faculty member in the area of your academic interest while you are on campus, please call Admissions at 1.800.BJ.AND.ME one week prior to your arrival.
