Seminar to explain change to women
This year’s Women’s Seminar, called “Embracing Change,” will be held Saturday in Stratton Hall.
Every year the Student Body women’s president organizes the seminar for student and faculty/staff women. Mrs. Erin Jones is the guest speaker this year.
“The one word that encompasses college is change,” said Stephanie Allen, Student Body women’s president.
She said this seminar will help women learn how to initiate change in their lives and how to cope with change whether they see it coming or not.
The first part of the seminar will consist of a fashion show put on by the women’s clothing store Cold Water Creek. Three students and Mrs. Dianne Pinner of the music faculty will be modeling different outfits to show women how to create different casual and professional ensembles.
Two women will also be given makeovers during the seminar. An e-mail was sent last Friday to students and faculty/staff women so they could submit their names to a drawing if they wanted to participate.
One student and one faculty/staff member will be selected and notified a few days before the event. Estee Lauder will be doing makeup and JCPenney’s salon will be doing the hairstyles.
Then Mrs. Jones will speak about the changes she has faced in recent months and how they have greatly impacted her life.
At the end of the seminar, the women undergoing makeovers will reveal their new looks.
