Tabitha Brown
Today we are pleased to honor a young graduate who has exhibited outstanding service and faithfulness to the Lord in the decade since she received her degree. Our recipient came to Bob Jones University from Parsippany Christian School in New Jersey, where her potential was recognized by both her teachers and her peers. As a senior she received the Patriot Award—which is given to one senior for exemplary Christian character.
As a student with a physical limitation, our recipient continued to exhibit a heart of faithfulness and service during her time here at Bob Jones University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Office Administration and once again was recognized by her peers and by the faculty and administration with the presentation of a President’s Club Award. When not in Greenville studying, our recipient honed her heart for ministry by serving in a jail ministry in Morris County, New Jersey, and by volunteering at the Morristown Rescue Mission and for the Association for Retarded Citizens.
After graduating from the University in the Diamond Anniversary Class of 2002, our recipient found her calling in the land of India. She taught at Emmanuel English School in Northeast India where she held numerous Bible studies for the children as well as helped to supervise and care for young girls in a boarding school. She also taught at North East India Baptist Bible College in Silchar, Assam, and is now teaching in a low- caste, illiterate community of tribals and Muslims in Nagaland, India.
In recognition of her steadfast, faithful service to God while overcoming her circumstances, we are honored to present this Alumni Outstanding Service Citation to Tabitha Brown.
