The scientific community was almost unanimous in its enthusiasm when the completion of the rough draft of the human genome sequences was announced on June 26, 2000 in a White House ceremony. What should be the attitude of the Christian to this important milestone and all that it promises and/or portends? It is the purpose of this session to begin a scientifically well-grounded discussion of the theological issues surrounding human genomics.
