Educator Jason Ohler noted in a recent article that, "The multimedia environment of the web, as well as much of what we experience through our computers, requires students to think and communicate as designers and artists. The language of art has become the next literacy - of the fourth 'R.'" This workshop discusses the importance of visual literacy and explores how to use a range of visual tools (from picture books to great masterworks) in developing this important skill.
