Exam Information

Classes that meet on any schedule other than MWF or TTh should be examined on the basis of the first day and first hour the class meets each week.

Those classes that meet for extended periods will be tested during that part of the class period that meets for the first full hour. (Top of the hour.)

No student will be permitted to change sections or time for his examination. Students should not schedule employment interviews that will necessitate any change in their exam schedule. If a student has four examinations (or exams for courses totaling 12 or more semester hours) for the same day, he may see the records office receptionist (with his exam permit) about changing one of them.

During the week of examinations, chapel will be held at the regular time. Day students must attend chapel if they have an examination or are on campus at any time during the day. Permission to miss chapel must be secured in advance by filling out an online day student exemption form (DS-3 first semester; DS-7 second semester) on The Avenue (student login required).

Students absent on the day of examinations will be reported absent as for any other class period.

If an exam is taken any time other than when scheduled, a late/special exam permit must be obtained from the records office. A student must have his exam permit when requesting a special permit.

During the week of examinations, no student will be allowed to take an examination unless he presents his exam permit. The business office will announce when these permits will be released. Each student must report at the beginning of the exam period even though he may not have received his exam permit. (A student who loses his permit may purchase another permit from the Business Office.)

The Music Department will give instructions for music lesson examinations.

Each examination will be held in the regular classroom and be of 70 minutes duration. Students must come prepared to stay the entire 70 minutes, since no classes will be dismissed early.
