AACS National Competition

Competition welcomes students from across the U.S.

April 13-15

Bob Jones University gladly hosts the American Association of Christian Schools National Competition every spring. Between 2,000 and 2,200 high school students from across the United States travel to BJU for the 3-day competition.

BJU hosts this national competition for students every spring semester. The students and their sponsors represent schools from more than 30 different states.

AACS Performance

The American Association of Christian Schools organizes student competitions in categories such as:

  • Bible
  • art
  • music
  • writing
  • drama

The students who come for AACS can get a taste of college life by living with residence hall students, attending chapel and visiting classes. The exposure to the opportunities at Bob Jones University can be impacting and encouraging especially to high school juniors and seniors who are making decisions about future college plans.

How current students experienced AACS as competitors

Tiffany BennettTiffany Bennett, junior Biblical Counseling major

My senior year of high school, the college students I stayed with went above and beyond the call of duty. We had 3 girls staying in there plus the 2 roommates. Our group had just found out that our volleyball coach had been in a terrible car accident. The BJU students prayed for us, comforted us and encouraged us. When I came down as a freshman in the fall, one of the girls who had not graduated found me at Rush, and we have been friends ever since.

Through my AACS experience I was able to get a good read of the spiritual temperature here at BJU. The true friendliness and realness of the students I roomed with brought me to the realization that this was where I should pursue my college education.

I remember seeing how helpful and receptive the college students were of all the high school students. We overloaded the rooms for 3 to 4 days, and they didn't seem to mind and even had a good time with us.
