Strengthen your musical knowledge and skills under the instruction of BJU’s music faculty, professionals who are nationally recognized for their musical excellence. Build friendships with peers who share your passion for music. And grow in your relationship with God.

At BJU’s Summer Music Camp, you’ll experience a well-rounded program combining daily Bible challenges and devotional time, a variety of music instruction—from private lessons to small groups and masterclasses to larger groups—as well as a fun mix of recreational activities, good food, and the opportunity to participate in recitals and concerts at the end of the week. Campers will select one main track from the following categories.

Band or String Orchestra

General Music Camp Information

Auditions will be held on Sunday afternoon, immediately following check-in. With the exception of handbells, all campers should bring a prepared solo or etude and will also be asked to sight-read. These auditions will allow your instructors to get a feel for where you are in your musical development so that they can better take you to the next level. Auditions are also your opportunity for chair placement in the string orchestra and band.

All campers should bring classical and/or sacred music they are currently working on to be used in auditions, lessons, contests and performances.

Camp will conclude with a series of recitals and concerts on Friday. These final performances are free and open to the public.

Individuals and small groups from the piano, string, harp, voice and handbell divisions will perform on Friday at 9 and 10:15 a.m.

Large groups from all music camp divisions will perform a final concert in Stratton Hall on Friday from 2–3:30 p.m.
