Testing Service

The Testing Center exists to provide a secure environment where students can take missed tests/quizzes at a convenient time.

Restrictions

Only missed tests (due a student’s absence from class) and limited tests for ESL students (who need more time to take the test than the rest of the class) may be submitted to the Testing Center.  Due to the volume of tests handled, the Testing Center will not proctor a test the first time it is given (in place of a substitute teacher) nor handle retakes for any number of students. Please make other arrangements for these situations.

Final Exams

Every student taking a final exam in the Testing Center must present a Special Exam Permit in order to take the exam. This is true for any final, whether taken early or late.  These permits are issued by the Records Office in the Administration Building.

Exception: ESL students who need more time to take a final exam may take it in the Testing Center without a Special Exam Permit only if they are taking the exam during the exact same hour in which the exam is scheduled and is being taken by the rest of the class.

Expired tests

The testing form lists an option for an expiration date, or date after which the test may not be taken by the student.  Proctors will pull expired tests the day after the date written on the testing form.  The Testing Supervisor will email you when an expired test has been pulled.  You may resubmit the test with a new expiration date or pick it up from your folder in the filing cabinet at Circulation.

Tests not found

If we cannot find a test in the Testing Center, the Testing Supervisor will e-mail you the next day so that you are aware of the problem and know that your student did try to make up the test.
