A thriving community of believers your own age—look forward to one of the most important and exciting aspects of BJU.

You’ve probably heard a funny story that started with “I had this roommate in college…” Now, it’s your turn to have roommates and to be a roommate. And let’s be honest: the relationships you form in college can impact you far greater than a project, test or paper ever will. So, come ready to learn and to give. Have reasonable expectations, and know you have a unity through Christ (Ephesians 4:2-7).

Residence hall life can be a profitable time of faith-building and fellowship with other believers. Your room will be joined with 2 or 3 other rooms to form a prayer group. Five nights a week, your prayer group will meet for a time of prayer-focused worship. The other nights, you and your roommates will have a time of prayer.

Don’t worry about living out of a suitcase. Your room will have lots of drawer space, closets and overhead bins for more storage. You’ll also find desks for your computer and shelves for textbooks. There are 5 residence halls for women and 5 for men. All residence halls are equipped with a prayer room, study lounge and vending room. Two men’s residence halls and all the women’s residence halls have laundry rooms. In addition, 3 residence halls have music rooms with pianos for practicing voice and instruments.

If you have questions about anything, you will find a supervisor and counselors in each residence hall. They care and are there to help and to offer friendship and spiritual counseling at any time.

You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that we take your safety and well-being very seriously and have taken a number of proactive steps to ensure that BJU is a safe and inviting place.

Dining

Dining Common

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or something to fill the times in-between, look no further than the Dixon-McKenzie Dining Common, BJU’s main dining facility. Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the dining common is a great place to spend time with friends, study between classes and kick back and relax over a delicious meal.

Enjoy a wide variety of meats, vegetables, fruits and desserts across a variety of food categories, including American, pizza & pasta, and international. Gluten-free options are also available, and special arrangements can be made for those with medical needs and other allergies.

Snack Shop

The snack shop is a great place to stop and refuel. Whether it’s a freshly baked Papa John’s pizza, a fresh-off-the-grill burger from Brody’s Grille, or a Chick-fil-A sandwich, the Snack Shop offers a wide variety of your lunch and dinner favorites. You’ll also find more than 100 beverage options. And don’t miss the coffee and candy!

The Growl

The Growl, located in the Davis Field House, serves all of your game-time favorites, including nachos, hot dogs and fruit smoothies. And depending on the season, you can enjoy a Bruins basketball game or society game while you eat.

Cuppa Jones

What better way to prepare for your upcoming class than to grab a fresh cup of coffee? Cuppa Jones, located right outside the Mack Library, offers a variety of brewed coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, teas and other hot and cold drinks for coffee and non-coffee drinkers alike.
