University Handbell Choir

University Handbell Choir

The Bob Jones University Handbell Choir program began in 1993 with one choir playing on three octaves of Malmark handbells. The program has grown to two auditioned choirs playing on five and a half octaves of handbells and five octaves of handchimes. We have also acquired four of the aluminum bass bells.

The handbells choirs are directed by Alan Lohr. The choirs play on campus each year in concerts and recitals. They have played in several area churches and schools, presenting a wide musical program for the events.

Every 2 years, the concert handbell choir tours for one week out of the school year. They have played in churches and schools from Maine to Florida and as far west as Minnesota and Iowa.
