Vintage Dedication Citation
God’s power and grace are clearly seen in the life of this year’s dedicatee. Throughout her years at Bob Jones University, the dedicatee has radiated the glory of her Lord. She exudes Christlikeness.
After earning a bachelor of arts degree in speech interpretation in 1959, she completed a master of arts degree in 1961. Her training at the University prepared her to be a role model for university students and women around the world.
Women who are struggling and in need of encouragement respect her ability to empathize with them and to teach them according to God’s Word. Drawing from personal experience and years of Bible study, she speaks at women’s conferences, inspiring women in their diverse avenues of ministry and counseling those who are hurting.
Actress, director, teacher, author—the dedicatee’s life impacts countless people. Though naturally shy, she has learned to be a professional extrovert.
As a member of Classic Players, she has brilliantly commanded the stage in such roles as Lady Macbeth and Roxane in Cyrano de Bergerac. She consistently brings intelligence and clarity to her performances. In addition, she has published thirteen books that employ humor and down-to-earth illustrations to exhort the reader to be faithful and godly. Employees of the University relate that she also diligently and warmly uses her gift of writing to offer love and support to them through personal correspondence.
With elegance and grace, she has stood steadfast during university transitions. With humor and childlike joy, she wins others to follow her example. For her outstanding service to Bob Jones University, the 2013 Vintage staff respectfully dedicates this yearbook to Mrs. Beneth Peters Jones.
