Campus Resources
It is imperative that you seek out your teacher in his or her office for special help and guidance. Your teacher is the person best qualified to help you understand the subject in which you are having difficulty.
- Maintain continued contact with your teacher
- Be kept informed of your academic status in the course
- Receive additional help as needed
Your academic advisor is knowledgeable in the major you desire to pursue and is available throughout the semester, especially to help you plan your semester course sequence, course load, and class schedule.
These men are available:
- For special counsel concerning courses of study for which they are responsible
- To explore new options and discuss your academic goals in light of your ACT scores, high school record, and current academic progress
- To help you understand your semester and cumulative grade point averages, quality point deficiency, and how quality points are earned to obtain the minimum 2.0 GPA (C average) required for graduation.
The following recordings are available to listen to in the Mack Library:

Academic Options
Summer sessions at Bob Jones University provide a setting that allows students to concentrate on one or two subjects at a time without the added distractions of a regular semester. Only work taken at BJU may be used to improve your GPA, since your GPA is based solely on work taken at BJU. Many students are able to improve their GPA by earning grades of A or B during summer sessions.
Some courses may be taken through the BJU Online during the summer months and winter break. This can provide opportunity to lighten one’s course load during the spring or fall semester as well as provide opportunity for independent learning that can be self paced for successful completion. The Center for Distance Learning is located in the Office Annex behind the Dining Common.
If your reading assignments seem long and laborious and you get very little from the material, Passport Learning can help you process more efficiently and attain better comprehension. The program begins with a diagnostic assessment to pinpoint the areas of weakness and then assigns training to strengthen them. All training is computer-based and designed to increase activity in the language arts side of the brain as patterns and connections visually and auditory-visually occur. With as little as 20 hours of training, you will see a difference in your reading skill level. The auditory-visual training is also extremely helpful in ESL usage with English pronunciations.
